Joaquín Castro is a 2012 Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. House representing the 20th Congressional District of Texas.[1]
In August 2012, he was included in a list of 20 Latino political rising stars compiled by the San Francisco Chronicle.[2]

Castro is running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Texas' 20th District. He is seeking the nomination on the Republican ticket. Incumbent Charlie Gonzalez is running on the Republican ticket. The primary took place on March 6, 2012. If Castro wins the primary, the general election took place on November 6, 2012.
