Margie R. Braxton is a former judge of the 3rd Circuit Court in Wayne County, Michigan.[1] She was elected to the bench in 1992, serving first on the Recorder's Court of Detroit (which was merged with the Circuit Court of Wayne County in 1997).[2] She was re-elected to six-year terms in 1998, 2004, and 2010. She retired when her last term ended in January 2017.

Education

Braxton received her bachelor's degree from the Detroit Institute of Technology and her J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School (1982).[3][4]

Career

Following her graduation from law school, Braxton worked as a solo practitioner for approximately ten years before she was elected to the Recorder's Court in 1992.[4]

2010 election

Braxton was re-elected to the 3rd Circuit Court in the general election on November 2, 2010, along with 18 other judges.[5]
