Elizabeth Ortiz is an associate justice of the Rhode Island Family Court. Gov. Gina Raimondo (D) nominated Ortiz to the court on December 8, 2020, to replace Associate Justice John E. McCann III. The Rhode Island Senate confirmed the nomination on December 18, 2020, and Ortiz assumed office on December 21 of that year.[1][2][3]

Ortiz earned a B.S. in paralegal studies and a J.D. from Roger Williams University.[4]

Prior to joining the court, she was a principal/attorney at the Law Office of Elizabeth Ortiz from 2011 to 2020 and an adjunct professor at the Community College of Rhode Island from 2012 to 2019.[4]
