Candidates for Third District Court Vacancy now being selected

Utah: Salt Lake City: The Judicial Commission will be selecting candidates to replace retiring 3rd District Court Judge Robert K. Hilder. The 3rd District Court is composed of Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties.

The Judicial Nominating Commission will be meeting on March 31, 2011 at the state Capitol complex to start selecting candidates to fill the vacancy. The judicial commission will hear public testimony about judicial issues before the closed meeting to discuss the potential candidates.

Judge Robert K. Hilder Utah State Courts biography states that Hilder was born in Australia, but emigrated to the United States in 1977. He graduated from the University of Utah law school in 1984 and became a judge in 1995. Prior to becoming a judge, he was the managing director of the Christian and Jensen law firm.[1]
