Ivan Posey
Ivan Posey (Democratic Party) is a member of the Wyoming House of Representatives, representing District 33. He assumed office on January 6, 2025. His current term ends on January 4, 2027.
Posey (Democratic Party) ran for election to the Wyoming House of Representatives to represent District 33. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Ivan Posey served in the United States Army. His career experience includes working for the USDA Forest Service in the Shoshone National Forest and as culture director for Arapahoe School in the Fremont County School District #38. Posey was appointed by Gov. Dave Freudenthal (D) to serve as the first Tribal Liaison for the Shoshone and Arapaho Tribes of the Wind River Indian Reservation from 2003 to 2004. He is an enrolled member of the Eastern Shoshone tribe and is also Northern Cheyenne and Northern Arapaho. Posey has been affiliated with Americans for Indian Opportunity, Advancement for Indigenous Opportunity International, the Wind River Development Fund, and Community Entry Services. He served on the Shoshone Business Council from 1994 to 2002 and 2004 to 2016, founded the Eastern Shoshone Boys and Girls Club, and served as chairman of the Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council.[1][2]
