Craig Buttars was the Utah Commissioner of Agriculture and Food. He assumed office on January 5, 2021. He left office on March 7, 2025.

Buttars was appointed as commissioner of the Utah Commissioner of Agriculture and Food by Gov. Spencer Cox (R) on December 21, 2020. He took office on January 5, 2021.[1]

Craig Buttars studied at Ricks College and Bridgerland Area Vocational Center.[2]

Political career

Utah Commissioner of Agriculture and Food (2021-2025)

Buttars was appointed Utah Commissioner of Agriculture and Food on December 21, 2020 by Gov. Spencer Cox (R). He began serving as commissioner on January 5, 2021, succeeding Logan Wilde.[1]

Cache County Executive (2015-2021)

Buttars was elected Cache County Executive in 2014, and served until 2021.[2]

Cache County Council (2008-2014)

Buttars was elected to the Cache County Council in 2008, and served until 2014.[2]

Utah House of Representatives, District 3 (1997-2006)

Buttars served in the Utah House of Representatives, representing District 3 from 1997 to 2006.[2]
