Five seats on the Poudre School District Board of Education were up for general election on November 3, 2015.
The seats of District A incumbent Cathy Kipp, District B incumbent Thomas M. Balchak, District F incumbent Nancy Tellez and District G incumbent Susan Gutowsky were up for election. There was also a special election for a two-year term for the District E seat, held by Carolyn Reed.[1][2]
Kipp defeated against challenger Michael Pruznick for the District A seat. Balchak did not file to run for another term in District B, leaving challenger Nate Donovan to run unopposed and win that seat. District E incumbent Reed also ran unopposed and won another term to her seat. District F was left open to a newcomer. Rob Petterson defeated Gavin Kaszynski in the District F race. In District G, incumbent Gutowsky ran unopposed and won re-election.[3]

Poudre School District is based in north-central Colorado in Larimer County. Larimer County is home to 299,630 residents according to the 2010 U.S. Census.[4] Poudre School District was the 10th-largest school district in Colorado, serving 27,510 students during the 2011-2012 school year.[5]
Demographics
Larimer County outperformed the rest of Colorado in terms of higher education achievement based on the 2010 U.S. Census. The average household income in Larimer County was $57,215, compared to $57,685 for the state of Colorado. The poverty rate in Larimer County was 13.4 percent, compared to 12.5 percent for the entire state. The U.S. Census also found that 43.1 percent of Larimer County residents aged 25 years and older earned a bachelor's degree, compared to 36.3 percent in Colorado.[4]

Voter and candidate information
The Poudre Board of Education consists of seven members who are elected by district to four-year terms. There was no primary election, and the general election was held on November 3, 2015. Four seats were on the ballot in November 2015.[1]
Individuals interested in running for the board began circulating nominating petitions on August 5, 2015. The filing deadline for school board candidates to get on the ballot in the 2015 general election was August 28, 2015, and the filing deadline to serve as a write-in candidate was August 31, 2015.[2]
