David Barker was a judge for Department 18 of the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada.[1] He first became a judge for the court in April 16, 2007, and was re-elected unopposed in 2014.[2][3][4] Barker retired from the court on January 6, 2017.[5]

Education

Barker received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine, in 1981. He earned his J.D. degree from the Pepperdine School of Law in 1984.[2]

Career

2013 judicial performance evaluation

In 2013, the Las Vegas Review-Journal sponsored a survey of 902 lawyers who rated Nevada Supreme Court justices and judges located in Clark County. 91 percent of respondents voted in favor of keeping Barker on the bench. The average vote in favor of retention for all 88 judges evaluated was 71 percent.[7]
