Addison Adams was a judge for the Arapahoe County Court in Colorado.[1] Adams retired from the court on September 30, 2016.[2]

Education

Adams received his undergraduate degree from Hampton University in 1969, his MPA from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1974, and his J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law in 1979.[3]

Career

Adams has served in the following positions:

  • Magistrate, Arapahoe County
  • Deputy Public Defender for Denver County, Adams County and Arapahoe County
  • Assistant Attorney General for the Regulatory Law Agency
  • Director, Student Legal Office, Metropolitan State University's Law Office
  • Attorney, private practice
  • Guardian Ad Litem, Araphoe County[3]

Elections

2012

Adams was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 73.52 percent of the vote.[4]

Judicial performance evaluation

The Eighteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance announced its recommendations for judges up for retention in 2012. According to its website, the commission evaluates judges based on the following criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament, and administrative performance.[5]


Judge Adams was recommended for retention by an unanimous vote. [3]
