Charles Troia

Charles Troia is a judge of the New York Court of Claims. He assumed office on July 23, 2020. His current term ends on July 23, 2029.

Troia (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for judge of the New York Supreme Court 13th Judicial District. He lost in the general election on November 2, 2021.

Education

Troia earned his undergraduate degree and a J.D. from St. John's University.^[1]

Prior to his appointment to the New York Court of Claims and the New York Supreme Court for the 13th Judicial District, Troia served as a judge of the New York City Criminal Court in Richmond County, New York from 2010 to 2020. He was appointed to this position in 2010 by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.^[1] Troia also served as a principal court attorney for the New York Supreme Courts, an attorney in private practice, and as an attorney at the New York City Law Department for the Torts Division.^[1]

Paul Marrone and Ronald Castorina defeated Ann Thompson and incumbent Charles Troia in the general election for New York Supreme Court 13th Judicial District on November 2, 2021.
