The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was May 25, 2015.[4] For Ward 16, incumbent Brian Kazy and Bill Ritter defeated David Brock, Danny Kelly and Paul Vasko in the primary election. Kazy defeated Ritter in the general election.[5][6]
