Linda Jones is an appointee to the Third Judicial District Court in Utah. She was appointed by Gov. Gary Herbert (R) in October 2017 to fill one of the vacancies created by the retirement of Robert W. Adkins, Bruce C. Lubeck, and Ann Boyden. Her appointment was confirmed by the Utah State Senate on November 15, 2017.[1][2]
Biography
Jones earned a B.S. in journalism and a J.D. from the University of Utah.[1]
At the time of her appointment to the bench, Jones was a partner with the law firm Zimmerman Jones Booher, LLC. Her experience also includes work as an adjunct professor at the University of Utah College of Law, an appellate lawyer for the Salt Lake Legal Defenders Association, and a law clerk. Jones has served as a member of the board of directors of Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity and the Utah Supreme Court's advisory committees for rules of evidence and criminal jury instructions.[1]
