Monica Mezzapelle
Monica Mezzapelle is the New Hampshire Treasurer. She assumed office on March 25, 2020. Her current term ends on December 4, 2026.
Biography
Mezzapelle is a certified public accountant (CPA) and was the deputy state treasurer for six years prior to her appointment as treasurer in 2020. She began working for the State of New Hampshire in 2000 as a financial and compliance auditor at the Office of the Legislative Budget Assistant.[1]
She has a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from La Salle University in Mexico. She lives in Concord, New Hampshire, with her family.[2][3]
Political career
Commissioner of the Treasury (2020-Present)
Mezzapelle was appointed on March 25, 2020, by Governor Chris Sununu to serve the remainder of resigned treasurer Dwyer's term. Mezzapelle was re-elected to a full term by the state legislature on December 2, 2020.[4][5]
Deputy State Treasurer (2014-2020)
Mezzapelle joined the New Hampshire State Treasury in May 2014 as the Deputy State Treasurer.[4]
Elections
2020
Mezzapelle was appointed as Commissioner of the Treasury in March 2020 for a term that would have ended on January 5, 2021. She was re-elected to a full term by the state legislature on December 2, 2020.[4]
