  • Accountability that builds trust and safety - Judges must hold all parties to the same standards - defendants, prosecutors, and the court itself. That means enforcing rights, demanding professionalism, and utilizing practices that strengthen public safety and confidence in the justice system.
  • Transparency people can understand - Courts work best when the public can see how decisions are made. A judge should explain rulings clearly, run an open courtroom, and make procedures predictable, accessible, and easy to understand.
