Alaska Libertarian Party makes strides toward ballot

JUNEAU, Alaska:The Alaskan Libertarian Party will lose ballot access in the spring of 2010 due to a ballot access law in the state. According to the law, parties are required to have a significantly more amount of registrants to be on the ballot in mid-term years than in presidential years.

State Representative Max Gruenberg stated that he will introduce a bill in 2010 to change the registration test to a flat number of registrants. Laws in Colorado and Louisiana require 1,000 registrants.
