March 29, 2012

North Carolina: Governor Bev Perdue appointed W. Douglas Parsons to North Carolina's Second Division Superior Court, District 4A on March 27, 2012. Parsons will replace retiring Judge Russell J. Lanier, Jr. on the court that serves Duplin, Jones, and Sampson counties.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Wake Forest University School of Law, Parsons currently works as a private practice lawyer in Clinton, specializing in criminal law. Gov. Perdue stated, "Doug has excelled in the legal profession and played leadership roles in his community and for the state...He is extremely well qualified to serve the people of North Carolina as a Superior Court judge."[1][2]
