The Judicial Update

August 15, 2012

MADISON, Wisconsin: Last week Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman removed himself from the ethics case against fellow Justice David Prosser. Gableman is the third justice to do this with Patience Roggensack and Annette Ziegler leaving the case before him. With three of the seven Supreme Court justices gone from the case the Court no longer has quorum to hear the case. Although Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson still retains the ability to send the case to a special panel of three appeals court judges.[1]

The ethics complaint was filed by the Wisconsin Judicial Commission against Prosser for an alleged physical altercation that took place between Justices Prosser and Ann Bradley in June of 2011.
