West Sacramento Sales Tax, Measure V (November 2008)

A City of West Sacramento Sales Tax, Measure V ballot proposition was on the November 4, 2008 ballot for voters in the City of West Sacramento in Yolo County, California, where it was approved.
Measure V authorized the city to continue to levy one-fourth cent of an existing one-half cent sales tax through March 31, 2033. This replaced a one-fourth cent that expires on March 31, 2013.
The tax generates about $1,000,000 a year for the city.
On the same ballot was Measure U, an advisory measure, asking voters what they'd like to see the tax proceeds used for--particularly asking if they'd like the money to go to a streetcar system.
