Nevada requires a balanced budget. With rising prices, including the price of housing, I am committed to working with the legislature and Governor Sisolak on using our funds effectively and avoiding new taxes on Nevadans. I will work across the aisle to ensure that Nevadans can compete in a difficult economic environment by directing funds to public schools, job training programs to continue to invest in high paying high growth industries such as health care and renewable energy.

Decisions about Reproductive Rights are medical decisions, best left to a woman, her doctors and her family. Reproductive Rights are protected for now in Nevada, but that can change. As assemblymember, I will be a reliable vote to protect health care and the right of privacy for all Nevadans.

I am committed to keeping the price of housing affordable for all Nevadans, giving all of us safe affordable housing in neighborhoods. As a homeowner, my husband and I saw our block change when three airbnbs opened within 200 feet of our house. The house and neighborhood where we had lived for 23 years changed - so that we no longer had neighbors, just a stream of short term visitors with no connection to the community. Not only is short term housing undermining our great hospitality industry, it is removing affordable housing from our community. More importantly, double digit increases in rent, year after year, are making affordable housing inaccessible to Nevada. We must change that and bring housing costs under control.

I am concerned about education policy - how do we ensure adequate funding and support for our education system, on all levels. I am concerned about health care, reproductive rights, affordable housing and job training. Like me, so many Nevadans moved here for a better life- I want to be sure that we all have the opportunities we need to achieve it - through education, affordable housing, good jobs, accessible health care and a safe environment.
