This measure sought to renew the current levy which is set at a rate of $.20 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for current expenses in the township.[2]

The question on the ballot:
| A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Elk Township for the purpose of CURRENT OPERATING EXPENSES at a rate not exceeding two mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to twenty cents ($0.20) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five (5) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3] |
