Patton Jr. participated in Ballotpedia's 2017 survey of municipal government candidates.[6] The following sections display his responses to the survey questions. When asked what his top priority would be if elected, the candidate made the following statement:

Aside from dealing with the multiple crises that the city faces: poverty, hunger, homelessness, unemployment. I want to create a system that actually prevents these problems from becoming full blown crises in the first place. I want to put in place a data driven high-technology system that can actually predict and help govern in a proactive rather than reactive way that will have visible impact on the communities it affects.[7]
