Dana Black (California)

Dana Black was the Trustee Area 6 representative on the Newport-Mesa Unified Board of Education in California. She was first elected to the board in 1996.[1] Black did not seek re-election in 2020.

Three of the seven seats on the Newport-Mesa Unified School District Board of Education were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. In her bid for re-election to Trustee Area 1, incumbent Vicki Snell faced challenger Michael Schwarzmann. Trustee Area 3 incumbent Martha Fluor ran against challenger Amy Peters. The Trustee Area 6 race featured incumbent Dana Black and challenger Leslie Bubb.[2] All three incumbents won re-election to the board.[3]
