Dariel Fernandez is a community leader committed to serving the residents of Miami-Dade County.

Dariel came to Miami-Dade County from Cuba in 2002, in search of the American dream. Upon arriving, he immediately fell in love with this country and its endless opportunities to grow and prosper. Dariel worked hard everyday, sometimes two or three jobs at the time, in order to provide for his family. In 2004, Dariel began working at Radio Paz 830AM, the catholic christian radio station in South Florida. Soon after he was given the opportunity to conduct his own television show on Mega TV named "Compartiendo Contigo,” where he was able to connect with the issues that our community faces every day.

Dariel’s hard work and dedication were the driving force that allowed him to become a small business owner when he launched, Ponemus Group, in 2015. Ponemus is a boutique marketing, consulting and technology software development firm, focused on using the latest technology to help small businesses achieve success. His gratitude towards our country, and to this community, have led him to volunteer for various charitable and professional organizations.

Currently, Dariel serves as a Board Member for the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, La Salle Educational Center and the Monseñor Felipe Bello Foundation. Dariel is the current president

An elected official should be honest, transparent, and accountable, always putting the community first. They need strong leadership skills, empathy, and fiscal responsibility to manage public funds wisely. Collaboration with others, a clear vision for the future, and a commitment to justice and equality are also crucial. Most importantly, they should serve with integrity and dedication to truly make a positive impact.
The core responsibilities for someone elected to the office of Tax Collector include efficiently collecting taxes to fund essential public services, providing excellent customer service to make processes simple and accessible, and safeguarding public funds through responsible and transparent financial management. Additionally, they must ensure compliance with tax laws and fair enforcement, actively engage with the community to address their needs, and continuously seek ways to improve services and reduce bureaucracy through innovative solutions.
I aim to leave a legacy of integrity, community-focused service, and meaningful improvements in public administration. I want to be remembered for making the tax collection process more efficient and transparent, significantly reducing bureaucratic hurdles, and fostering strong support for small businesses. Ultimately, I hope to be seen as a dedicated public servant who made a lasting positive impact on the community, enhancing the quality of life for all residents and ensuring that public funds were managed wisely and responsibly.
