Krista Griffith
Krista Griffith (Democratic Party) is a member of the Delaware House of Representatives, representing District 12. She assumed office on November 7, 2018. Her current term ends on November 3, 2026.
Griffith (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Delaware House of Representatives to represent District 12. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Representative Griffith received degrees in political science and English-journalism from the University of New Hampshire, and later received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in Boston. For almost a decade, Griffith served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Delaware Department of Justice under the administrations of Beau Biden and Matt Denn. She led Attorney General Biden's Senior Protection Initiative and was the assistant unit head of the Department of Justice's Domestic Violence and Child Abuse units. Griffith left the Department in 2015 when her son was diagnosed with leukemia. Since her son's recovery Griffith has worked with several nonprofit organizations including the Down Syndrome Association of Delaware.
Representative Griffith was elected to the Delaware House of Representatives in 2018. She represents District 12 which includes neighborhoods in Hockessin, Greenville and North Wilmington. In the 2019 session Griffith was a member of the Economic Development/Banking/Insurance & Commerce Committee, the Energy Committee, the Veterans Affairs Committee, vice chair of the Judiciary and Natural Resources committees, and chair of the Telecommunication Internet & Technology Committee.[1]
