I was born and raised in Sanford, Maine. My husband, Paul, and I have been married for 51 years and have three children and six grandchildren, all of whom live and work in the area. In 1974, Paul and I established Williams Foundations, which is still operating with our son as the owner. I also established a children’s boutique in 1979, which I sold 6 years later. I then obtained my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Social Work, beginning my career in child welfare, working in management for several child serving organizations, and then establishing an individual practice specializing in grief and family counseling from which I’ve recently retired. I’ve volunteered for many organizations over the years. I served ten years on the Sanford School Committee as well as the Core Building Committee for four construction and renovation projects. I’m currently a board member of Strategies for Stronger Sanford and serving as the President of the Sanford Schools Legacy Foundation.
