Kevin Lembo (Democratic Party) was the Connecticut Comptroller. He assumed office on January 5, 2011. He left office on December 31, 2021.

Lembo (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for Connecticut Comptroller. He won in the general election on November 6, 2018.

In addition to running as a Democratic Party candidate, Lembo cross-filed to also run with the Working Families Party in 2018.[1]

Lembo was re-elected in 2014.[2] Unopposed for the Democratic nomination in the primary, Lembo overcame two challengers, Republican Sharon McLaughlin and Green Party candidate Rolf Maurer, in the general election on November 4, 2014.[3][4] He began his second term as state comptroller on January 7, 2015.

In 2004, Lembo became Connecticut's first Healthcare Advocate. In this role, which he held until 2010, Lembo's office organized formal challenges against health insurance companies on behalf of thousands of state residents who had been rejected for coverage.[5]

In addition to serving as comptroller, Lembo has maintained a part time, appointed position as a clinical instructor at the Yale School of Nursing.[3]

Sometimes referred to as the state's financial "watchdog" or "guardian," the Connecticut Comptroller is charged with monitoring and reporting on the state's financial health. The comptroller essentially serves as the state's accountant.[6]

Lembo is a native of Paterson, N.J. He holds a Master of Public Administration degree from California State University.

In Connecticut, Lembo was made the state's first Healthcare Advocate. He served in this position from 2004 to 2010. During his time, he also chaired the state's health care reform effort, SustiNet.[3]
