Campaign themes
2014
Sando's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[2]
Improving Transportation
- Excerpt: "We need to ensure that if we shift to a new taxation system for transportation, like one based on miles driven, is efficient, fair, and ensures that the public is aware of it and supports the changes. I’d like to be a part of the discussion on this issue."
Championing our Schools
- Excerpt: "Many of the current ideas to improve schools are coming from large companies with an interest in selling the latest high stakes test or curriculum, I believe that improvements need to come from our communities and our classrooms not their interests and their back rooms."
Creating Jobs
- Excerpt: "We need to understand that a good business climate leads to strong communities. I’d like to see the state help local communities revitalize their communities and help small businesses succeed. Government also should work to help encourage manufacturing, technology, and bio-medical companies that provide good jobs to locate and thrive in our area – It’s key to a vibrant future."
