At the time of her campaign, Joli was the president and CEO of The Joli Law Firm, PLLC. According to the firm’s website, “Joli practices exclusively in the field of immigration law, specializing in detention and removal proceedings.”

Joli received her bachelor's degree from Saint Thomas University and her J.D. from Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo. Her J.D. was conferred by the Supreme Court of Louisiana.
