Campaign themes

2014

Crangle's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[4]

Prospering Small Businesses

  • Excerpt: "As the owner of a small business since 1994, I know that small businesses are the engine of our economy. Instead of continuing to only focus on taxpayer-funded incentives for big businesses, we need to get to work on how to create an environment that is conducive for small businesses to thrive and create jobs."

Protecting Taxpayers

  • Excerpt: "We need to actively pursue tax relief for Tennessee citizens. I believe the higher the level of taxation, the poorer we all are. For example, the Hall tax imposed on TN citizens should be eliminated as soon as possible."

Preserving Parent/Teacher Partnerships

  • Excerpt: "For higher education, we need to increase access to vocational education for those young adults who have strengths in vocational areas. Lastly, we need to eliminate Common Core and start over. And, we need to review truancy laws."

Providing More Efficient Government

  • Excerpt: "State government needs to be performing only essential services and performing those services well. In addition, we need business friendly fiscal policies and processes including review of vehicle emission testing laws and business licensing policies. Limited government allows for a more business-friendly environment, which enhances job creation."

Promoting Traditional Values

  • Excerpt: "I am pro-life. I am in total support of proposed Amendment #1 to the Tennessee Constitution that will be on the ballot in November. This Amendment will allow the Legislature to pass laws that require much-needed oversight of abortion facilities."
