Sandy Jerstad
Sandy Jerstad (b. November 18, 1943) is a former Democratic member of the South Dakota State Senate, representing the 12th District from 2007 to 2011.
Biography
Jerstad taught at the following schools: Osseo, Minnesota Junior High in 1966, Seattle, Washington Junior High from 1966 to 1967, Roseville, Minnesota Junior High from 1967 to 1968, Boron Junior High School, Seattle, from 1967 to 1968, and Roseville Middle School from 1968 to 1969. She then worked as a coach/assistant professor for Augustana College from 1977 to 2003. From 1979 to 2003, she was also the Senior Women's Administrator at Augustana College.
Jerstad earned her B.A. from Saint Olaf College in 1966. She went on to receive her M.S. in health/physical education/recreation from South Dakota State University in 1980. She then earned her Ed.D. in educational administration from the University of South Dakota in 2004.

Elections
2010
Jerstad ran for re-election to the 12th District seat in 2010. She ran on the Democratic ticket and was defeated by Republican challenger Mark Johnston. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.
2008
On Nov. 4, 2008, Jerstad won re-election to the 12th District Seat in the South Dakota State Senate, defeating opponent Hal Wick (R).[1]
Jerstad raised $57,619 for her campaign while Wick raised $77,355.[2]
