Jaime Areizaga-Soto
Jaime Areizaga-Soto was a 2011 Democratic candidate for District 31 of the Virginia State Senate.
Areizaga-Soto graduated from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. He went on to receive a J.D. and a master's degree in Latin American Studies from Stanford University.
He formerly served in the Army National Guard's Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG). He was also appointed to the U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID) by the Obama Administration. He served as the Policy Advisor to Senator Mary Whipple in 2010 and 2011.

Areizaga-Soto ran in the 2011 election for Virginia Senate District 31. He was defeated by Barbara Favola in the primary on August 23, 2011. The general election took place on November 8, 2011.[1][2]
