Fred Sanders is a judge of the Orphans Court of Garrett County in Garrett County, Maryland.[1] He was elected on November 4, 2014, to a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[2]

Sanders ran for election to the Orphans Court of Garrett County.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014, receiving 50.4 percent of the vote. He competed against incumbent Judge H. Wayne Wilt. Candidates ran unopposed in the primary. 
General: He faced Dave Beard (write-in), Everett B. Deberry (write-in), Dan Duggan (write-in), and incumbent Judge H. Wayne Wilt in the general election on November 4, 2014, and won with 41.1 percent of the vote. Candidates competed for three open seats. [1][3][4] 

Military service

Sanders served in the U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged.[5]

Education

Sanders obtained a diploma from the School of Bookkeeping and Accounting in Atlanta.[5]

Career

Before his election to the bench, Sanders began worked with Garrett County, first with the Sheriff's Office and then with the Board of Supervisors of Elections.[5]
