The Alabama Banking, Amendment 6, also known as Amendment 6, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 7, 1944, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution: Section 251. The amendment proposed that there would be no limit of time for the duration of a corporation hereafter organized as a bank or banking company, and it shall not be necessary hereafter to renew or extend the life or charter of any such corporation now existing. And all extensions of the life or charter of any such corporations are hereby ratified and confirmed.[1]
