I currently serve on the Hawthorne City Council, elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. I also served on the Hawthorne School District Board of Trustees for 12 years, first elected in 2007. I am the Founder/President of Moneta Gardens Improvement Inc. and ‘“The Castle” South Bay Universal Child Development Center. I have served our community for over 30 years making sure that underprivileged children and families receive the services they need for a better life. I have consistently worked with schools, social service agencies and community groups in assuring that children and families receive adequate physical, mental health services, and support structures that positively affect their academic achievement.
  • Education - Work to ensure our schools are funded and all students have access to a quality education
  • Housing - Advocate for smart housing/home-ownership and enhance programs for veterans, seniors, and homeless population
  • Healthcare/Environmental Issues - Work to protect the environment and improve the health of our residents
I am very passionate about advocating for smart housing/home-ownership and enhancing programs for veterans, seniors, and our homeless population. I will continue to advocate for social programs for the homeless and the disadvantaged individuals to ensure that all residents find themselves on equal footing.

I am also passionate about protecting the environment to improve our residents' health. The top environmental issues in my district are air pollution, reliance on fossil fuels, and making the Port of Los Angeles more efficient. I plan to promote clean and renewable energy in the district, including advocating for 100% green energy and supporting the electrification of the district.
My understanding of directorships of child-care programs, youth mentoring/counseling, not to mention being an instructor for business and economic development make me a unique leader and office holder. I have founded several nonprofit organizations committed to social change. I have advocated for homeownership, low-income housing, and universal preschool in our communities.
With my diverse background and multi-lingual aptitude and abilities, I represent a unique approach to politics. In 2007, I was elected to serve as a board member for the Hawthorne School District, and then, in 2018, I was elected to serve the city as councilman. I have always had an interest in changing politics for the good of the community, but my call to human service took precedence at the beginning of my professional career.
