Alfred Ben Strand
Alfred Ben Strand was a judge for the Jefferson County General Sessions Court in Tennessee. He also had jurisdiction in the Jefferson County Juvenile Court. He was elected to this position in 1998.[1][2] He retired from the court in August 2014.[3]
Education
Strand received a B.A. degree from Carson-Newman College in 1962, a B.S. degree from the University of Tennessee in 1964 and his J.D. from Samford University - Cumberland School of Law in 1967.[1]
Career
Strand began his career in 1967 as both a private practice lawyer and a professor of business administration at Carson Newman College. He taught at the college until 1971, then from 2000 to 2005, and finally in 2010. In 1975 and 1976, he worked briefly as a circuit court judge in the 2nd Judicial District. He then practiced for the Strand & Goddard Law Firm from 1976 until 1999, when he became a general sessions judge.[1]
