Ben Lujan, Sr.
Ben Lujan, Sr. (b. 1936) is a former Democratic member of the New Mexico House of Representatives, representing District 46 from 1975 to 2013. Lujan did not run for re-election in 2012.[1]
He served as Speaker of the House from 2009 to 2013.[2]

He defeated Carl Trujillo in the June 8 Democratic Primary. In a close race, Lujan won by only 80 votes. Trujillo considered mounting a recount effort but decided against it nine days after the primary.[4]

On November 4, 2008, Lujan won re-election to the 46th District Seat in the New Mexico House of Representatives. Lujan had no challenger.[5]
