Bill Anderson Jr. (Tennessee)
Bill Anderson Jr. is a judge for Division 7 of the Shelby County General Sessions Court in Tennessee. He assumed office on September 1, 2010. His current term ends on September 1, 2030.
Anderson ran for re-election for the Division 7 judge of the Shelby County General Sessions Court in Tennessee. He won in the general election on August 4, 2022.
Biography
Education
Anderson received his undergraduate degree in criminal justice and his J.D. from Memphis State University. Prior to receiving his law degree, Anderson worked as a counselor at a juvenile institution, as a probation and parole officer for the Tennessee Department of Corrections, as an assistant director of a girl's group home, and as a supervisor at Shelby County Pretrial Services.[1]
Career
Anderson began his legal career in the private practice and worked as a criminal defense attorney for 26 years. He also served as a special judge in the general sessions and criminal courts during this time. He was elected to the bench in 2010.[1]

General: He defeated James Jones, Jr. in the general election on August 7, 2014, receiving 36 percent of the vote.[2]
2010
Anderson won the election in August 2010, in a race with 20 candidates. Because of the large number of opponents, Anderson won with only 14.93 percent of the vote.[3]
