Bill Fortune participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on September 8, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Bill Fortune's responses follow below.[4]
What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
“ | 1. Improve mental health, reduce violence, less welfare. Implement the Fatherhood Initiative and other techniques to show how to resolve emotional issues by using relationships, based upon "Getting the Love You Want"; do it yourself replacement therapy. Request studies that show what girls need from their fathers to develop into emotionally healthy adults. Children from "intact" 2 parent families get a better head start; not starting in First Grade. Less money for "education"/school social workers. 2. Affordable Clean Energy to end Greenhouse Gas production and stop Man Made GW/CC. Solar too expensive; $ 60,000 +, with batteries /household and still not enough to significantly reduce fossil fuel. I propose to have the already taxpayer funded new technology, Factory Built, Greenhouse Gas Free, Walk-Away Safe, Economical power plants built in NH, NOT CHINA, and installed on Federal/State land/bases. "Power generated in NH sold to NH First"; estimated rate 6 cents/kwh or less, down from 18 cents & going up ! Lower energy costs allow companies to compete and pay higher wages. People keep more & decide where to spend want they earn. 3. Commission studies to show that the taxes on consumer goods and services are up to 65 %. Just because people don't pay income taxes doesn't mean that their taxes are not high. Discussions about Business Profits Taxes doesn't address the problem. I contend that women pay the highest % of their income in taxes.[5][6] |
” |
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?
“ | The more government "help" programs the higher the taxes; the money doesn't "come from the Government", it comes from the people. In NH we pay a 300% + tax on electricity and up to 65 % tax on consumer goods and services. This means that the lower wage earners pay the highest %age of their income in taxes.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[6]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Bill Fortune answered the following:
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow and why?
“ | I don't follow ! I lead.[6] | ” |
“ | Generation IV power plants; Transatomic Power Inc. , Terra Power and Terrestrial Power.[6] | ” |
“ | Get their heads out of where the sun don't shine and deal with the issues that are causing voters to register as Undecided.[6] | ” |
“ | Facilities engineer for the overhaul of nuclear submarines, Founder of Fathers United for Equal Justice, NH, 1971, Chief Steward, IFPTE, Local 4 and owner of WFORTUNECO.COM, doing HVAC, geothermal heat pumps.[6] | ” |
“ | Looks at what's best for everyone in the State and not just in their district.[6] | ” |
“ | That i got the cost of electricity down to 6 cents/kwh, from 18 cents and implemented district heating/cooling/growing food with the waste heat from power plants instead of wasting it. Note: about 50% of the total heat generated from a power plant generates electricity. The approx. other 45 % is wasted.[6] | ” |
“ | at about 2-3 yrs. old I went to explore, being inspired by Huckleberry Finn (not sure of the name of spelling). I came to the river and saw the water and ice (the Warner River, in Bradford, NH) and decided not to go near it, but then didn't know how to get back home. My mother went a got my father and Pete the Indian and they tracked me to the river. I always think how close i came to die if i had not been frightened by the moving water. (i can still picture it even today).[6] | ” |
“ | My first "job" was doing some landscaping at a farm, then i graduated to helping my friend deliver papers in the South End of Concord NH into Bow. I wonder how many miles we rode our bikes..[6] | ” |
“ | She went with me to the Senior Prom so she could be near the one she loved. Problem was that he had a date and didn't pay much attention to her.[6] | ” |
“ | None[6] | ” |
“ | none[6] | ” |
“ | I don't deal with fiction[6] | ” |
“ | Built-in Vacuum Cleaner[6] | ” |
“ | There are too many to remember; Mona Lisa , and many from Andre Rieu[6] | ” |
“ | Finding someone emotionally healthy for a relationship[6] | ” |
“ | no diff. most buffoons.[6] | ” |
“ | ???[6] | ” |
“ | NO, NO, NO How does Political Science teach about anything useful ???[6] | ” |
“ | Getting the cost of taxes on electricity removed and make people understand that there are more taxes than income taxes and that Business Profit Taxes are paid by the consumers.[6] | ” |
“ | ???[6] | ” |
“ | Can't build a relationship with "those so blind that they can not see".[6] | ” |
“ | none[6] | ” |
“ | Energy, Health and Human Services.[6] | ” |
“ | N/A[6] | ” |
“ | N/A[6] | ” |
“ | NO[6] | ” |
“ | NO[6] | ” |
“ | People are tired of the buffoons in politics.[6] | ” |
2016
Fortune made the following statements in a June 2016 radio interview with Girard at Large:
- "We need to re-establish the family, we need to have good jobs come to New Hampshire, and we can't do it under the present system with all the taxes and all the—you know, people don't want to realize that companies really don't take taxes, they collect taxes. It's the consumer that pays the taxes. and I can't get anybody, any politician to recognize that...but the average person seems to understand that."[1]
- "Seven cents is the actual cost to deliver electricity to your meter ... . We're paying foreign companies in New Hampshire to generate electricity burning wood, we're paying double for that. The co-op just signed a contract with somebody to generate electricity using windmills and we're paying double for that."[1]
- "I think we should keep the 2nd Amendment. On the other hand, we can't, we can't just push that one issue which a lot of Republicans are trying to push."[1]
- "The average person is not well-represented ... It's all about special interest groups ... . They have the money and the time, and the average person doesn't really have the time or the money."[1]
