Samargya ran for election to the Florida 5th Circuit Court.
Primary: He was defeated in the primary on August 26, 2014, receiving 16.4 percent of the vote. He competed against Mary P. Hatcher, Sandy K. Kautz and Denise A. Dymond Lyn.

Education
Samargya earned his B.A. from the University of Central Florida in 1991 and his J.D. from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.[3]
Career
Samargya's experience includes being a managing partner for two law firms, state prosecutor, assistant public defender and Florida certified circuit civil mediator.[4]
