What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
1. End civil forfeiture 2. Reform education financing 3. Criminal justice reform
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am passionate about ending civil forfeiture. It isn't fair to poor people to have to fight the state to regain their own possessions. If the government is convinced they are the fruit of an illegal venture, they should get a conviction first
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
I don't believe in looking up to people. If I were to emulate any legislator, it would be Justin Amash.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Honesty, openness and accessibility
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
I have lived a life of ups and downs. I know what it's like to be a homeowner and what it's like to be homeless. I want the government out of the way
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To lower the barriers for Nevadans to succeed and to make government accessible
What legacy would you like to leave?
Fewer laws
What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?
I was 4. I remember JFK'S funeral
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
I was a busboy at JB's Big Boy for 1 1/2 years feom my 16th birthday
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
Thanksgiving. It's a time to come together, feast and watch football
What is your favorite book? Why?
Catch-22 It portrays the inanity of life perfectly
What is your favorite thing in your home or apartment? Why?
My smoker. My favorite thing to do is to spend the day in my yard, tending to dry rubbed meat
What was the last song that got stuck in your head?
"My Hometown" by Cahrlie Robinson
Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?
No. I think we need fewer career politicians
What do you perceive to be your state’s greatest challenges over the next decade?
Diversifying the economy, without falling prey to.the easy path of throwing money at companies to come here
What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and the state legislature?
Cordial but cautious
Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer.
Of course it's beneficial...going qlone will guarantee failure. Surrendering your principles like the Republicans did in 2015 is not acceptable
What process do you favor for redistricting?
A bipartisan commission with guidance from economists and demographers
If you are not currently a member of your party’s leadership in the legislature, would you be interested in joining the leadership? If so, in what role?
If elected, I would be the Libertarian caucus. I wouldn't caucus with either party exclusively
Are you interested in running for a different political office (for example, the U.S. Congress or governor) in the future?
No
