Carolyn Murphy

Carolyn Murphy was an at-large member of the North Penn Board of Directors in Pennsylvania. She passed away on December 10, 2016. She had served on the board since 1981.[1]
Murphy filed to run for re-election to the board in both the Democratic and Republican primaries on May 19, 2015. She won the Democratic nomination and advanced to the general election, where she won another term on November 3, 2015.[2][3]
Biography
Murphy worked for the North Penn School District until she retired. In addition to serving on the school board, she also served on the board of directors for the North Penn School District Educational Foundation.[4]

2015
Five of the nine seats on the North Penn school board were up for general election on November 3, 2015. There was a primary election on May 19, 2015.
Incumbents Carolyn Murphy, John Schilling, and Suzan Leonard won re-election. Edward Diasio and Theresa Prykowski also joined the board. They defeated incumbent Cory Brown and challengers Beverly Dodds, Benjamin Litman, Patrick McGee Jr., and Tina Stoll.
All candidates filed to run in both the Republican primary and the Democratic primary.[2][5]
Leonard, Murphy, Dodds, Litman, and Stoll won the Democratic primary. Brown, Schilling, Diasio, McGee, and Prykowski were victorious in the Republican primary. No independent candidates filed to run in the general election.[3]
