Charlotte C. McDaniel McGehee was a Democratic candidate for Louisiana Commissioner of Insurance in the 2015 election.[1]
Biography
McGehee grew up in Baton Rouge, La. She graduated from law school in 1999 and was admitted to the Louisiana state Bar Association that same year. She has worked as an attorney in the Baton Rouge area since 1999. In 2009, she founded her own law firm called Charlotte C. McDaniel McGehee, A Professional Law Corporation. While her primary expertise is in personal injury law, McGehee also practices in the areas of civil rights litigation, contract disputes and family law.[2][3]

2015
McDaniel McGehee ran for election to the office of Louisiana Commissioner of Insurance in the 2015 election. The primary election occurred on October 24, 2015.[4] McGehee faced fellow Democrat Donald Hodge, incumbent Commissioner James Donelon (R) and Republican Matt Parker.[5]
McGehee lost with 19 percent of the vote. Despite there being four candidates on the primary ballot, incumbent Commissioner James Donelon won a majority of votes, eliminating the need for a general election contest in November.[6]
