Cheri Siler-Mack is a judge of the 12th Judicial District, which presides over Cumberland County of North Carolina.[1] She was elected on November 4, 2014, to a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[2]

General: She defeated J. Duane Gilliam, Jr. in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 59 percent of the vote. [1] 

Judicial performance evaluation

In July 2014, the North Carolina Bar Association released the results of a survey in which it asked lawyers to rate the judicial candidates for the trial courts. The candidates were rated from one to five on five different criteria as well as on their overall performance.[3]

Education

Siler-Mack received her B.A. degree in political science, with a minor in public administration/criminal justice, from North Carolina Central University in 1987. She received her J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law and was admitted to the state bar in 1991.[4]

Career

Prior to her election to the bench, Siler-Mack worked for the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office since 1992. She was a senior assistant district attorney assigned to family court.[4]
