Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

John Carlson (Republican, Independent)

Make CT AFFORDABLE. We are in the top 5 in every "most expensive" category there is and in the bottom ten for every positive category. We need to turn this around.

Make CT SAFE. We need to fund the police, give them the tools and resources they need to succeed and increase the amount of officers and patrols.

Improve education. As a teacher, I know where and how funding should be spent to improve performance.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

John Carlson (Republican, Independent)

The environment. I'm a member of the National Arbor Day Society and the WWF.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

John Carlson (Republican, Independent)

I can see both sides of the coin and understand that there is always a meeting point that will satisfy all involved parties.

What legacy would you like to leave?

John Carlson (Republican, Independent)

That I put CT back on track.

What is your favorite book? Why?

John Carlson (Republican, Independent)

I don't know if I could just select one, but I'll with "Stonefox". I read it with my class every year. A Fantastic story about a boy and his dog that will bring tears to your eyes. Can't give away much more than that or it would ruin it for anyone who hasn't read it yet.
