Campaign website

Raybon’s campaign website stated the following:

The Issues

Education and Workforce Development

You know a former Mississippi Governor called William Winter said “the road past the poor house leads straight through the school house”. Governor Winter has yet died but his word still ring true. Investing in education is investing in our future. I’ll fight for increased funding for our public schools, including resources for teachers and support staff. Let’s make college more affordable and accessible for all students and expand vocational training programs to prepare workers for the jobs of tomorrow.

Healthcare Access and Affordability

Access to quality healthcare is a right, not a privilege. I’ll work to protect and expand the Affordable Care Act, ensuring that no one goes bankrupt due to medical bills. Let’s expand Medicaid to provide coverage for those who need it most and lower prescription drug costs for seniors, working class families, and especially those who have served our nation proudly (our U.S veterans).

Economic Development and Job Creation

Our district has incredible potential for economic growth, but we need policies that prioritize Main Street over Wall Street. I’ll fight for investments on day one in infrastructure projects that create jobs and stimulate local economies. Let’s support our small businesses, family farms, and manufacturing industries to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to succeed’ to ensure we all have a piece of the pie.

Raising the Minimum Wage

As a candidate running for Congress, I firmly believe in the importance of raising the minimum wage. It’s not just about economics; it’s about basic fairness and human dignity. Raising the minimum wage is a matter of economic justice. Too many hardworking Americans are struggling to make ends meet on poverty-level wages. By raising the minimum wage, we can lift millions of families out of poverty and provide them with the opportunity to build a better future for themselves and their children. It’s also about reducing income inequality. In recent years, we’ve seen the gap between the rich and the poor widen to unprecedented levels. Raising the minimum wage is a critical step towards creating a more equitable society where everyone has a fair shot at success. But it’s not just about economics; it’s about values. Every worker deserves to be paid a fair wage for their labor. Raising the minimum wage is about ensuring that all workers are treated with dignity and respect in the workplace. By raising the minimum wage, we can also stimulate economic growth and create more demand for goods and services. When low-wage workers have more money to spend, they’re more likely to support local businesses and contribute to the overall health of our economy. In short, raising the minimum wage is not just the right thing to do; it’s the smart thing to do. It’s time for Congress to take action and give hardworking Americans the raise they deserve.
