Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Byron's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Smaller government: the federal government has grown far too large and overreached far too deeply into the lives of American citizens. Return more power to state and local governments.
  • National Defense: in an increasingly unstable and hostile world, we need a military and national defense policy able to stand strong against those forces that threaten our citizens at home and abroad.
  • Foreign Policy: to include diplomatic relations, trade imbalances, and the extension of our national security strategy, we need to restore our Nation’s place as the strongest, most respected leader in world policy.
  • Immigration: we need to do a much better job of controlling our borders. We should not penalize our natural citizens and legal immigrants while rewarding those who enter our country illegally.
  • Veteran Affairs: our Nation continues to fail our veterans. We need to live up to our promises, and hold VA leadership accountable.
