David L. Jeffrey is a circuit court judge for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court in Freeport, Illinois. He was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Theresa L. Ursin. Jeffrey assumed office on September 2, 2014, and his term will expire on December 5, 2016.[1] He has served as an associate judge for the same court since 1996 and was most recently reappointed for another four-year term, which commenced on July 1, 2011, and would have expired on June 30, 2015.[2][3]
Education
Jeffrey received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 1976 and his J.D. degree from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1979.[1]
Career
Before he became a judge in 1996, Jeffrey practiced law at his law firm of Jeffrey & Jeffrey Law Offices in Freeport, Illinois, for seventeen years, specializing in probate and estate planning as well as civil and criminal litigation.[1]
