District B is arguably the most diverse district in Washoe county. Being the father of two biracial children I’ve been completely immersed and experienced first hand the challenges another culture can experience here in Washoe county and I truly believe by keeping an open dialogue and presence with all minority groups is pivotal to keeping them in the conversation so that we may meet there needs and overcome challenges.[3]

I will always maintain an open door policy to all members the community. I believe that by keeping in touch with religious institutions is a great way to keep a finger on the pulse of the community. I often struggle with this question when it comes to my own children. I want them to be tech savvy so they do not fall behind their peers but at the same time I do not want them to be completely inundated in technology. Going forward I believe math and sciences will be monumental in being successful in the 21st century.[3]
”
How might you improve the value of a high school diploma? What should a 21st century diploma reflect?

”
What principles drive your policies for safety in schools?
“
When it comes to school safety I look to history, we as a society have solved school safety issues in the past when it comes to school fires. When was the last time we’ve heard of teachers or students perishing in a fire? We can take a similar approach when it comes to these incidents by instilling trading and physical measures to mitigate a threat. Also I believe early intervention for troubled students is key to preventing attacks.[3]
