My name is Delores T Bell. I am a wife of 47 years. A mother of 3, 2 daughter and a son. I have 9 grandchildren, 6 grandsons and 3 granddaughters. I retired in 2022 after working for Cumberland County Schools after almost 22 years.

I have worked at two schools. At the high school a Media Clerk and Instructional Assistant. At the middle school, I was an Instructional Assistant, Medication Clerk and Discipline Clerk. A co-worker and I started a mentoring club and we also made a green space at the school. During Covid learning was different. We didn’t think the students would always want to sit in the classroom.

Teachers and staff should have the support of the administrators. The teachers need the support of the parents. The parents, teachers, staff and administrators need the support of the community. All teachers want is to be appreciated, respected and supported.

All students can learn. We each learn differently. They just need someone to take the time to learn their style.
  • It’s time for a change and the time is now. One person can’t do it alone. We can start planting the seed in others…
  • All students can learn. They all learn differently. We need to take time to learn which one it is…
  • Teachers want to be respected, appreciated and give them a voice. They want to be heard. They want their needs met…
Every teacher and every student is safe everyday. We have resource officers in every school. A social worker, nurse and psychiatrist are at a school everyday. Mental health is important.
Honesty, transparency, fairness, morals and knowledge.
When I was in the first grade. President John Kennedy was asisassinated when I was 5 years old.
Working on summer in a daycare. It was a summer job.
Meetings, going out to schools so teachers and staff know you care. Know that kids are our first our first concern, and policies.
Our constituents are the students and parents. The parents are the who vote for us.
