Denis J. Butler is a judge of the New York Supreme Court 11th Judicial District. His current term ends on December 31, 2035.
Butler (Democratic Party, Republican Party) ran for re-election for judge of the New York Supreme Court 11th Judicial District. He won in the general election on November 2, 2021.
Education
Butler received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Fordham University in 1986 and 1989, respectively.[1][2]
Career
Butler spent his early career working as a principal law clerk in Queens County. He served in this position for Civil Court Judge Robert Kohm (1990), Supreme Court Justice Robert Groh (1991), Surrogate's Court Judge Robert Nahman (1992), Supreme Court Judge Timothy Flaherty (1993-1998), and for Robert Nahman again (1999-2001). He has also served as an associate adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law since 1991. In 2002, he was elected to the New York City Civil Court, Queens County and, in 2008, he was elected to the Queens County Supreme Court.[1]
